Tripura saw the highest voter turnout, while Lakshadweep had the lowest in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. Over 16.63 crore voters across 1.87 lakh polling stations cast their votes, including 35.67 lakh first-time voters and 3.51 crore young voters. Strict security measures were in place, with over 18 lakh polling officials deployed. Additionally, options like home voting for elderly and PwD voters received positive feedback. Elections in multiple states and union territories began, with subsequent phases scheduled until June 1, followed by vote counting on June 4.
